Larn Lab: Agriculture

For spring, PreK students learned the time and patience that goes into basic growing of plants. Students were provided beans to grow, with Griselda Quezada -Freemont Elementary of Riverside, California, in tandem with classroom assistants setting up planting stations for PreK students.

Milk cartons were used and base soil was placed in milk cartons, that allowed students to learn how to plant beans, and with small shovels cover the beans with at least 3 tablespoons of soil. Students are currently observing the 2-3 week growth of beans by having a review once a day to see how different the beans looked when planted to now growing over two inches high.

The goal of this Learn Lab is to introduce PreK students to Observation and Inference.
