Started With COVID-19 Solutions & Community Limitations
In 2020 Tscion provided community outreach for seniors, veterans, and metro-based youth during COVID-19. These services included education activities, online grocery orders for seniors, cleaning supplies for after-school programs, and healthy food options for veteran food pantries. Seeing a service need for informing requirements of safety and preparedness, it was clear the information gap impacted how community adjusted to emergencies needs.
Growing in Operations, Expanding with Outreach
In 2022 the private nonprofit’s volunteer base improved, highlighting the common theme of outdoor wellness, emergency preparedness and environmental literacy. These learning principles became the focal point for research operations. Colorado-based community services also helped expand the focus on outdoor research, wellness activities, healthier food information, and innovating agricultural resources.
An Environmental Education Outlook
By turning the organization to a sustainable approach in 2024, Tscion saw what was important for community needs versus general volunteer work. In 2025 Tscion solidified its mission to identity fully as an environmental education & preparedness resource for its Colorado and Illinois chapters.
